"Is online video changing the way your students perceive your teaching and education? What impact could it have in the future?
I do not feel online video changes the way students perceive teaching but I do feel online video changes how they might perceive education. I really feel students need and enjoy the personal interaction they get from a teacher in a classroom. However, to much online education can really effect social interaction skills of our young students.
I think students probably love online education, I don't think students like being in a classroom or yelled at be discourteous teachers. Students who have bad classroom experiences will tend to lean towards online education as there first choice. This is why it is so important for teachers to make all their students classroom experiences a positive and enjoyable one.
The benefits of online education is great for older students who have to work and want to receive an education. It allows students to take classes on their time schedule. It also allows High School students who fall behind a way to catch up or retake classes without spending that extra time in class. I know many students who would not have graduated if it was not for the online schools.
As I mentioned before, the impacts of to much online education will severely limit social skills that would be learned in a classroom environment. There seem to be so many young students that just do not know how to communicate or interact properly with adults because of their lack of practice and/or exposure with dealing professionally with other adults or peers.
